A coordinator should create their site's VISM list before starting visits with participants. Then, every year after that, coordinators must review and update it as needed.
1. To start, login and click on the view button (or "eye" icon) on the right of the site name in your staff dashboard.
2. Hover over Programs, VISM, and click National VISM list.
3. Let's begin with books. On your site's VISM list, type the name of a book and click SEARCH. In this example, I will search for "Families Can."
4. Click the Action dropdown and select the program model to which you want to add the book to its VISM list. In this example, I will add "Families Can" to the HBCC VISM list.
5. Continue steps 2 and 3 until all books are added.
6. Let's move on to toys. Select the toy tab and repeat steps 2 and 3 until all toys are added.
7. Now that all books and toys have been added to the HBCC VISM list, let's go to the Site's VISM list page and enter the sequence. Hover over Programs, VISM, and click Site's VISM list.
8. On the Site's VISM list page, select the HBCC tab. You will see two sections. On the left, you will see the Site's Books and Toys section, which lists all the books and toys we just added to the HBCC VISM list.
9. On the right, you will see the Site's VISM Schedule. Here, you will select and drag the books and toys in the correct order. If your site uses alternative books and toys, feel free to leave them in the Site's Books and Toys list, or if you prefer, add them to the bottom of the Site's VISM Schedule - this is totally up to you and how you like to organize your list. In this example, I have started to order all my books and toys and chose to leave my alternative book ("Families Can") in the Site's Books and Toys section.
10. Click SAVE VISM LIST when finished.
The Site's VISM List for each model appears in the dropdown menu when visiting information is entered in the scheduler. If a book or toy is missing from the scheduler, it is also missing from the Site's VISM Schedule. For this reason, it is important to review the Site's VISM Schedule annually before starting visits.
